City Seeks Proposals for Banner Design Contest
The City of Durham is seeking design proposals for a series of artful banners to adorn the southern facade of the new Downtown Mixed-Use Parking Garage. The new facility, located at the intersections of Mangum Street, Morgan Street and Rigsbee Avenue, is expected to be open to the public in early 2019. This public art opportunity is open to all talented and creative people living or working in the Research Triangle area. City Seeks Input on Durham Belt Line Trail Master Plan Draft
The draft of the much-anticipated Durham Belt Line Trail Master Plan is now ready and the City is seeking public input. The Durham Belt Line is envisioned to be a greenway and series of parks extending 1.7 miles from downtown Durham, through the Innovation District, Trinity Park, Pearl Mill Village, North Durham and Duke Park neighborhoods, and then east to the Avondale Drive area. The master plan includes policy recommendations that address safety, design of trail-side development, and housing and equity issues. The City’s Transportation Department is asking the public to review the draft master plan at the public open house on June 11 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Durham Nativity School, 1004 N. Criminal Record Expunction Seminar Set For Tomorrow
Legal Aid of North Carolina and the City will hold a seminar on criminal record expunction and legal help tomorrow from noon to 2 p.m. at the Holton Career and Resource Center auditorium at 401 N. Driver Street. A 30-minute seminar will cover record expunctions and drivers license restorations. Following the seminar, attendees can apply for free legal help.
Durham Offers Contractors Empowerment Event
The City of Durham will sponsor an Inaugural Contractors Empowerment Event tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to1:30 p.m. at the Archie K. Davis Conference Center at 12 Davis Drive. Attendees will get to interact with panelists representing business enhancement categories like administrative support, finance, insurance, bonding, and tax preparation.
