Governor's Order Opens Retail; Durham Still Under Stay-at-Home-Order
While the City and County of Durham remain under a local Stay-at-Home Order through Friday, May 15 at 11:59 p.m., the Governor’s latest order pre-empts the local order regarding retail. Durham retail businesses can open May 8 at 5 p.m. as long as they follow the guidelines listed in the Governor’s order. Learn more in our updated FAQs.
Durham Forms City-County Recovery and Renewal Task Force
Mayor Steve Schewel and County Commission Chair Wendy Jacobs announced the formation of a new Durham Recovery and Renewal Task Force. The Task Force will advise them over the next 100 days on how to revise emergency declarations and stay-at-home orders during the COVID-19 crisis.
DPAC Hosts Community Blood Drive
In partnership with The Blood Connection of Central and Eastern NC, DPAC will be hosting a blood drive to support local hospitals during this time of need. Participants are asked to register in advance to help organizers plan for staffing, supplies, and social distancing.

Durham Celebrates Drinking Water Week May 3-9
This year’s National Drinking Water Week (May 3-9) is an opportunity to recognize the City employees who work hard to continuously provide safe drinking water and the student-artists who created winning artwork to highlight the "value of water."
