Recruiting Unit Accepting Job Applications
The Durham Police Department (DPD) Recruiting Unit continues to accept applications for police officer positions. Recruiting Open Houses and in-person recruitment activities are temporarily suspended due to social distancing mandates, but there are several ways interested applicants can still engage with DPD Recruiting Officers. Here’s how:
- Fill out a City application through NEOGOV link (APPLY NOW) on DPD’s Recruiting page (https://durhamnc.gov/157/Recruiting-Employment)
- Email a DPD Recruiter below to receive an applicant packet, and ask any questions you have about the process:
Senior Officer Robert Jones (Robert.Jones@durhamnc.gov)
Officer Charles Strickland (Charles.Strickland@durhamnc.gov)
Officer Pamela Shackleford (Pamela.Shackleford@durhamnc.gov)
- Submit your completed applicant packet to the DPD Recruiting Unit.
When in-person applicant testing and interviews resume, applicants will be eligible to quickly move into the next stages of the hiring process and potentially be a part of an upcoming police academy.
