Budget Healing Part 2 - Make Your Voice Heard!

Join the City and County of Durham to review and prioritize proposals for how to use federal American Rescue Plan Act funds to address racial equity and to support community needs.
How will Durham use American Rescue Plan funding to advance racial equity?
The City and County of Durham have partnered with North Carolina Central University (NCCU) to help build stronger relationships between residents and community leaders around funding decisions. On June 8th, Durham residents were invited to discuss outstanding needs in our communities, share our common goals, and generate ideas for how to spend the more than $100 million in one-time federal funding that is coming to Durham (about $50M to the City and about $60M to the County) as a result of the American Rescue Plan Act.
On Thursday, August 5th from 6 -7:30 pm, we will host a follow-up discussion to review the proposals received and allow residents to weigh in on which ideas should be prioritized.
At this event, we will review how American Rescue Plan funding can be spent, discuss the proposals that the City and County are considering, and provide transparency about the process moving forward.
