FAQs:

Why is this work needed, what is included, how much will it cost, and how long will it take?
The project will install a new water main for parcels along Newman Street that do not currently have service. It also prepares for future connections across Fayetteville Street on Walker Street and Henderson Street. The project is expected to cost approximately $350,000 and take 90 days to complete.

Will my business or property be impacted during the construction phase of this project?
Construction will not occur on private properties but you will notice pedestrian, traffic, and noise impact. The City’s contractor is required to keep access open to residences and businesses at all times. On-street parking and pedestrian access may be obstructed due to work or traffic detours. Workers will repave any areas they disturb and will grade and reseed lawns at the end of the project.
