The Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP, Federal) and Watershed Protection Project (State) grant agreements have been executed. The City has begun work on the EWP projects. Professional Services (EWP-2020-01)
The Public Works Department utilized their On-Call Stormwater Professional Services (SD-2017-01) program to select Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to perform this work. City Council authorized execution of the contract at their November 18, 2019 meeting. A Notice to Proceed will be issued in March 2020. Debris Removal (EWP-2020-02)
The bid opening was held on March 6, 2020 (bid tabulation). Zulu Marine Services, Inc. is the apparent successful bidder. The services contract will be executed in the coming weeks. Work is anticipated to begin in April 2020.
Stream Bank Stabilization Construction (EWP-2020-03)
A construction project will be bid out for construction of the stream bank stabilization techniques designed by the professional services firm. We expect this project to bid Summer 2020.

The City of Durham has been approved for an Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) grant to repair damages to streams caused by Hurricane Florence. The EWP grant will provide funding for debris removal, professional services, and stream bank stabilization for locations identified by the United States Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS).
