A sustainable city is one that provides a healthy environment, vibrant cultural activities, and a strong, equitable economy to its residents, without compromising the ability of future generations to experience the same.
We, at the City of Durham, are committed to this vision for the Bull City, which is outlined in our recently completed Roadmap to Sustainability. Developed by a cross-departmental team of City employees with extensive input from our residents, the Roadmap establishes measures and strategies across seven focus areas.
Click on a particular focus area below to review a list of measures and strategies. The data charts and progress reports that accompany these measures and strategies are updated periodically.
