Land Surveying Beginning Soon

Residents, businesses and property owners next to the rail corridor received letters by mail, in English and Spanish, to let them know that land surveyors, engineers, geologists and City staff will be out collecting data on the physical conditions in the corridor and adjacent properties over the next several months. Most of the project is expected to be built within City-owned property or streets, but if any construction impacts to private property are anticipated, the City will be in contact with the property owner.

Project Description

This project includes design and construction of an approximately 1.76 mile long multi-use trail in an abandoned Norfolk and Southern rail bed. It will connect pedestrians and cyclists from North Durham to the Ellerbe Creek Trail network, and to Downtown. The trail will also pass through the South Ellerbe Stormwater Project.
