Meriwether Drive

Meriwether Drive is currently 34' wide, and has two 17' travel lanes. It has a speed limit of 35mph, and is a high-use transit corridor. The proposed improvement for this section is to stripe bike lanes and narrow the travel lanes. It will link Old Oxford Road to Carver Street, which will have bicycle facilities.

The current and proposed cross-section can be found below. You can comment on the proposed cross-section using this link. A public meeting will be held at the Whitted School in Durham on Saturday September 22 from 10am-1pm. At the public meeting you will be able to see the preliminary designs, ask questions of City staff and the consultants, and provide comments.
