Kimley-Horn of Raleigh, NC has been hired as the design firm to prepare plans, obtain permits, and hold informational meetings with stakeholders.
The City of Durham Public Works Department is now preparing designs for pedestrian facilities along Morreene Road from Neal Road to Erwin Road, and City staff wants to share their work and receive community input.
The drop-in style meeting is set for Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the E.K. Powe Elementary School Cafeteria, located at 913 Ninth Street, Durham.Residents will be able to review the preliminary design, ask questions of City staff and consultants, and provide input before the department completes the design work. The goal of the project is to improve pedestrian accommodations with proposed improvements including sidewalk, curb and gutter, curb ramps, pedestrian crossings, and associated pavement markings.
For residents who cannot attend this meeting, maps and comment forms to collect their feedback will be available after the meeting date on the project website. Resident feedbabck is due by Tuesday, November 8.
