September 10, 2019


The Durham City-County Planning Commission will hold public hearings on September 10, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 101 City Hall Plaza, 1st Floor, Durham, NC  27701, to consider the following:

UDO Text Amendment


TC1900001 – Omnibus Changes 13: Technical and other amendments to various sections of the UDO, including amendments regarding the current process for permitting chickens, Sedimentation and Erosion Control standards, additional sidewalk requirements, and accessory solar installations.

TC1900003 – FEMA FIRM Update: A text amendment to Sec. 8.4, Floodplain and Flood Damage Protection Standards, to adopt revised flood insurance rate map (FIRM) panels issued by FEMA. 

Plan Amendment


Bethpage Office (A1800009) is a request to change future land use designation of property at 5621 Chin Page and 3824 Page Road from Industrial, Recreation Open Space to Office, Recreation Open Space.

4809 Farrington Road (A1900010) is a request to change future land use designation of property generally located at 4809 Farrington Road from Industrial to Low-Medium Density Residential.

Zoning Map Changes


Bethpage Office (Z1800033) is a request to change the zoning district at 5621 Chin Page and 3824 Page Road from Industrial Light with a Development Plan (IL(D)) to Office and Institutional (OI).

4809 Farrington Road (Z1900028) is a request to change the zoning district generally located at 4809 Farrington Road from Industrial Light with a Development Plan (IL(D)), Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection Overlay District B (F/J-B), MTC I-40 Overlay to Residential Suburban-Multifamily (RS-M), Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection Overlay District B (F/J-B), MTC I-40 Overlay.

Annexation Petition


All Saints UMC (BDG1900008) A voluntary annexation petition to annex two contiguous parcels totaling 11.27 acres located 116 and 120 Smallwood Drive.

Huntington Annexation (BDG1900001) A voluntary annexation petition to annex a contiguous area totaling 50.225 acres located South of Walsenburg Drive, including Rushmore Place and Ripplebrook Road.

Hopewell Academy (BDG1900009)
A voluntary annexation petition to annex a contiguous parcel totaling 47.72 acres located at 4651 Comstock Road.

5510 Barbee Chapel Annexation (BDG1800016) A voluntary annexation petition to annex a contiguous parcel totaling 38.51 acres located at 5510 Barbee Chapel Road.

New Haven Townhouses (A1900002) is a request to change land use designation of property at 2600 Ellis Road from Industrial, Recreation Open Space to Low-Medium Density Residential (No change to Recreation Open Space).
