November 12, 2019

The Durham City-County Planning Commission will hold public hearings on November 12, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 101 City Hall Plaza, 1st Floor, Durham, NC  27701, to consider the following:

UDO Text Amendments


TC1900002 –Outdoor Lighting is a privately-initiated amendment to Sec. 7.4.2B.2 of the UDO regarding lighting for outdoor recreational activities. 
TC1900005 – Affordable Housing Dwelling Unit Definition is an amendment to revise the definition of “affordable housing dwelling unit” in Sec. 17.3, Defined Terms.

Zoning Map Changes


600 North Roxboro (Z1900004) is a request to change the zoning district at 600 North Roxboro Road  from Residential Urban-Multifamily (RU-M) to Residential Urban-Multifamily with a development plan (RU-M(D)).
Hebron Village (Z1900016) is a request to change the zoning district at 4728 Denfield Street from Residential Suburban-20 (RS-20), Residential Suburban-10 (RS-10), Eno River District B (E-B), Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B) to Planned Development Residential 5.117 (PDR 5.117), Eno River District B (E-B), Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B).
Glenn Road Townhomes (Z1900018) is a request to change the zoning district at located at 3516 Glenn Road from Residential Rural (RR), Falls/Jordan Watershed Protection Overlay District-B (F/J-B), Major Transportation Corridor Overlay I-85 (MTC I-85), County Jurisdiction to Planned Development Residential 7.046 (PRD 7.046), Falls/Jordan Watershed Protection Overlay District-B (F/J-B), Major Transportation Corridor Overlay I-85 (MTC I-85), City Jurisdiction.

November 18, 2019

 
The Durham City Council will hold a public hearing on November 18, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1st Floor, 101 City Hall Plaza, to hear the following requests:

UDO Text Amendment


TC1900001- Omnibus 13 includes technical and other amendments to various sections of the UDO, including amendments regarding the current process for permitting chickens, Sedimentation and Erosion Control standards, additional sidewalk requirements, and accessory solar installations.
TC1900003- FEMA Firm Updates is a text amendment to Sec. 8.4, Floodplain and Flood Damage Protection Standards, to adopt revised flood insurance rate map (FIRM) panels issued by FEMA. 

Plan Amendment


A1800009 Bethpage Office is a request to change land use designation of property at 5621 Chin Page and 3824 Page Road from Industrial, Recreation Open Space to Office, Recreation Open Space.

Zoning Map Changes


Z1800033 Bethpage Office is a request to change the zoning district at 5621 Chin Page and 3824 Page Road from Industrial Light with a Development Plan (IL(D)) to Office and Institutional (OI).
Z1900007 Chalk Level Road is a request to change the zoning district at 1107 Chalk Level Road from Residential Suburban-10 (RS-10), Eno River Watershed Protection Overlay District (E-B) to Residential Suburban Multi-family  with a Development Plan (RS-M(D)), Eno River Watershed Protection Overlay District (E-B).

Street Closing


SC1700001- Urban Avenue is a request to permanently close a 934.31–linear foot portion of Urban Avenue located between Ellerbee Creek and Washington Street.
Landmark Designations
LD1900002 is a request submitted by MDM Historical Consultants for local landmark designation for Mutual Plaza. The property is located at 411 West Chapel Hill Street. 
LD1900003 is a request submitted by MDM Historical Consultants for local landmark designation for W. C. and Mary Hinton Lyon House. The property is located at 2423 West Club Boulevard.
