Public Hearings

Public hearings allow residents to comment on current issues involving the City. Public hearings are advertised and placed on the agenda for the City Council, board, committee, or commission meeting where they will be discussed.

City Council Meetings Update

City Council meetings will take place in person at City Hall and continue to be available virtually. Community members who wish to provide comments may do so in person, but are encouraged to participate virtually. Currently, all other board, committee, and commission meetings will continue to take place virtually.

Meetings will be broadcast live and available for viewing by the public through the following methods:

  • City’s website
  • City’s YouTube Channel
  • City’s Facebook and Twitter pages
  • Durham Television Network (Spectrum Channel 8, Google Fiber Channel 8, Frontier Channel 70, and AT&T Uverse Channel 99)
  • Roku, Apple TV & Amazon via Boxcast

Ways to Provide Public Comment

To protect the health and safety of the public and staff during COVID-19, the City is currently holding most meetings in a virtual format. During this time, comments may be provided in the following ways:
