Yard Waste

  • THURSDAY AND FRIDAY yard waste customers will not be collected until their next regularly scheduled yard waste day (Jan 27 for Thursday customers and Jan 28 for Friday customers). We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
  • Due to staffing, some routes are running with automated collection trucks only. We will be unable to collect bags as part of the normal collection effort. If we missed your bags, please submit a missed pickup request below and we will come collect them.

  • Bulky services will be operating normally. 
  • Bulky item collection is by request only. Residents can put in a request online or call Durham One Call at 919-560-1200.

Blue Recycling CartCart Services

  • New carts, cart repairs and replacements are operating normally with expected service times of 3 business days.

  • Christmas Trees are only being collected for Yard Waste subscribers and Exempt customers. Due to staffing, some of these collections could take up to 2 weeks to be completed.
  • Several free drop-off options are available until the first week in February for all Durham residents. 
  • NOTE: Tree collections at the Parks are canceled due to expected poor weather for January 22, 2022. Check back for more updates.

Missed Collections

If we missed collecting your garbage, recycling or yard waste, we do apologize and you can report it here. Note that yard waste missed collections should be reported no later than the Monday after the miss by 4:30 pm. We will be out to collect your miss as soon as we can.
