The Office on Youth is a division in the City Manager’s Office that provides direction on youth initiatives in Durham. The office works with youth, families, City and County staff and leadership, and community partners to elevate youth voices and enhance services and programs for youth.
We create new spaces and structures for Durham youth to be co-creators and decision-makers in local government.
We partner with Durham’s young people, their families, and other people who support youth. We work together to find ways that local government programs and systems can better support all children and youth ages 5-24 years.
Check out our 2021 Durham Youth Leadership Fund (DYLF)! Young people (ages 13-24 years), community groups, and organizations are eligible to apply for one-year grants ranging from $500 - $20,000! Learn more about the fund.
Young people in Durham can sign up here for one-way text alerts about important resources available to them, such as COVID-19 updates, food and employment assistance, mental health supports, events, and more.
