Students ages 11-15 have the opportunity to do something exciting and educational for Spring Break. The Durham Fire Department and the City of Durham’s Parks and Recreation Department team up annually to present the Junior Fire Marshal Program. The program is offered during the Durham Public School spring break and allows participants to explore different careers in the fire service industry and other careers within the City of Durham while learning to become safety ambassadors for the community.

Time and Location
The program usually takes place in the last week of March to the first week in April from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pick-up and drop off each day takes place at:

Participants must attend each day of the program in order to graduate. Participants are deemed Junior Fire Marshals at the graduation ceremony.
