Downtown Durham Armory Now Open
Recent renovations include refinishing the hardwood floors, baseboards, and stripping the painted brick walls in the ballroom.  The drywall, wood finishes, and drop ceiling in the ballroom were painted and the lobby received new paint and finish upgrades.  A new air conditioning system has been installed in the catering kitchen as well.

Open House
Friday, July 25, from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Can't make it to the open house? Tours are provided every first and third Monday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment needed.

Special Facilities
(including the Durham Armory, Spruce Pine Lodge, Forest Hills Neighborhood Clubhouse and McCown-Mangum House). These facilities will be closed during city holidays for rentals and viewings.
Outdoor Plazas (including CCB Plaza and the Durham Centre Parking Deck Plaza).
 
Picnic Shelters
Reservations are currently being taken for the 2013 shelter season. All shelter usage is on a first come, first serve basis until the beginning of the 2014 season. 
 
Picnic Shelter Season: April 1 - October 31
Many Durham parks offer picnic shelters on a “first come, first served” basis. By making reservations, you are assured of having the picnic shelter of your choice. Permits must be purchased by Tuesday at 5 p.m. for the remainder of the work week and weekend.

Old Farm Park Picnic Shelter and Bathroom Closed
Access to the picnic shelter and the bathrooms at Old Farm Park is closed until further notice due to flooding from the heavy rains on May 15, 2014. If you have any questions, feel free to call (919) 560-4355.
 
Campsites
Parks and Recreation offers a variety opportunities for outdoor recreation, including a year-round camping area. All reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.
 
Recreation Centers
To reserve a recreation center, contact the site directly.
