Bull City Open Streets
During the festival, Bull City Open Streets will close the streets to promote biking, walking and physical activities. The tradition of closing streets began with Ciclovia in Bogota, Colombia where every Sunday, 70 miles of Bogota’s streets were closed for traffic and opened for pedestrian activities. American cities from New York to San Francisco now enjoy regular open streets and Bull City open Streets is one of the first of this type in North Carolina. The event promotes health, community, environmental awareness, and downtown’s economic growth.

Bike Activities
Seven Stars Cycles will have the shop open on Earth Day's hours and will be providing free safety checks to the events attendants. Seven Stars Cycles is also sponsoring a community group bike ride (20-30 miles), starting from 723 Rigsbee Ave. at 9 a.m., finishing at Motorco.

Tip-Top Cycles will be on the Bull City Open Streets route providing free check-ups as well as lessons on how to change a flat tire.

Along the route you'll also find Durham Cycles at its tent having a bike rodeo with games and prizes for happy participants. It will also have a display to show off the latest bicycle technology.

Clean Energy Durham will be on route providing bike powered smoothies for those who are willing to pedal for it! For more information visit the website.
