DURHAM, NC - The Durham Police Department’s (DPD) registration for 2013 National Night Out (NNO), America’s Night Out Against Crime, is underway. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the observance that is spearheaded annually by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). NNO will be observed Tuesday, August 6, 2013 by an estimated 37 million people and 15,000 communities nationwide.
Durham NNO neighborhood coordinators must register their events with the police department to be included in DPD promotions. To complete an online registration with DPD or to download a DPD registration form, go to www.durhampolice.com and click on the 2013 NNO 30th Anniversary logo. DPD’s NNO page includes links to registration forms; to feedback about Durham’s 2012 observance and Durham’s NNO awards history; and to the NATW website.
NNO registration forms are also available at police substations and headquarters. The deadline for DPD’s NNO registration is Monday, July 8, 2013. For information, call Kimberle Walker, senior public affairs specialist, at (919) 560-4322, ext. 29194.
