Parks and Recreation Hosts Community Meetings

Residents to Give Feedback on the Future of Parks and Recreation in Durham

When:      Tuesday, October 9, 2012, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Where:     Southwest Regional Library
               3605 Shannon Rd.

Fast Facts:
• Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) will revise its master plan to reflect the pulse of residents’ desires for new facilities and programming over the next decade. DPR will solicit feedback from residents to help create a plan that embodies the unique character of the Durham community.

•  Residents can give input at one or all of the eight community meetings held in October and November.

•  At the conclusion of the meeting series, the Master Plan Steering Committee will meet to assess the community’s priorities and the information will be used to help draft the new master plan.

•  A draft of the plan will be presented to City Manager Thomas J. Bonfield and Durham City Council for review in the spring 2013.

•  All meetings will be held from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at locations throughout Durham. See the additional dates and locations below:
