Durham Police Investigating UTV Accident
The Durham Police Department is investigating a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) accident at the Durham Police Range involving a Durham police officer.
The accident happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. on a gravel road at the range at 7615 Cassam Road in Bahama.
The accident happened when a UTV driven by the officer ran off the side of the road and overturned. The officer was on duty at the time.
The officer, whose name is not being released at this time, was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He is in stable condition.
The accident is being investigated by the DPD’s Traffic Services Unit, which is standard protocol.
