Please be advised of the upcoming Durham City Council public hearing items regarding amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO):

TC1800008 – Text-only Development Plan: Amendments to Sec. 3.5, Zoning Map Change, and other associated sections of the Unified Development Ordinance to provide standards for a text-only development plan.


The Durham City Council will hold the public hearing on January 22, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 101 City Hall Plaza, 1st Floor.

Plan Amendment
3920 South Alston Avenue (A1800002)
is a request to change future land use designation of property located at 3920 South Alston Avenue from Commercial to Industrial.

Ellis Road Phase III (A1700018) is a request to change future land use designation of property generally located at 3714 Angier Avenue from Industrial to Low Density Residential (4 du/ac or less).

Zoning Map Changes
3920 South Alston Avenue (Z1800005) is a request to change the zoning district at 3920 South Alston Avenue from Office and Institutional (OI) to Industrial Light with a Development Plan (IL(D)).

Ellis Road Phase III (Z1700052) is a request to change the zoning district generally located at 3714 Angier Avenue from Industrial Light, Residential Rural (IL, RR) to Planned Development Residential 3.575 (PDR 3.575).

1228 Carroll Street (Z1800018) is a request to change the zoning district at 1228 Carroll Street from Residential Urban-5 (RU-5) and Residential Urban 5 with Duplexes Allowed (RU-5(2)) to Residential Urban-Multifamily with a Development Plan (RU-M(D)).

Davis Park West (Z1800014) is a request to change the zoning district at 362 Davis Drive and 900 Merrion Avenue from CG(D) Legacy case Z07-27 to Mixed Use with a Development Plan (MU(D)).

TC1800010 – Neighborhood Protection Overlay Process: Amendments to Sec. 4.6, Neighborhood Protection Overlay (-P), and other associated sections of the Unified Development Ordinance to revise the process for initiating a neighborhood protection overlay.

Zoning Map Changes
Kings Daughters Inn (Z1800024) is a request to change the zoning district at 204 North Buchanan Boulevard from Residential Urban-5 (RU-5) and Residential Urban Multifamily (RU-M) to Residential Urban Multifamily (RU-M).

TC1800002 - Omnibus Changes 12: Technical and other amendments to various sections of the UDO, and amendments regarding standards for mailbox clusters for residential developments.
TC1800006 – Private Streets: A privately-initiated request to amend paragraph 12.2.2, Other Forms of Access, for the allowance of private streets for certain single-family subdivisions in the County jurisdiction and clarification of design standards.

Annexations
Ravenstone – Conover (BDG1600005) 629 Conover Road; A voluntary annexation petition to annex a contiguous parcel totaling 0.469 acre.
