Text Amendments
TC1400003- Design District Updates: A text amendment to re-organize Design District zoning regulations within the UDO, and to revise certain existing Design District standards. These amendments shall revise text within Article 2, Review Authority; Article 3, Applications and Permits; Article 4, Zoning Districts; Article 5, Use Regulations; Article 6, District Intensity Standards; Article 7, Design Standards; Article 8, Environmental Protection; Article 9, Landscaping and Buffering; Article 10, Parking and Loading; Article 12, Infrastructure and Public Improvements; Article 13, Additional Requirements for Subdivision; Article 14, Nonconformities; Article 16, Definitions; and the creation of a new Article 17.

Plan Amendments
NC 54 Self Storage (A1700001) is a request to change the land use designation of property located at 1003 E NC 54 Highway from Office to Commercial.

Ample Storage (A1600014) is a request to change the land use designation of property located at 4343 Garrett Road from Medium Density Residential (6-12 du/ac) to Commercial.

2016 Evaluation and Assessment Report of the Durham Comprehensive Plan (A1700002). The applicants, City of Durham and Durham County, are requesting that changes to the Future Land Use Map made by each governing body in 2016 be rectified and that several amendments to the Durham Comprehensive Plan policies be adopted. In addition, the applicants request to change the future land use designation of three properties the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association acquired three properties (PIDs 125918, 215437, 125911), totaling 2.1 acres, in the vicinity of the intersection of Broad Street and Stadium Drive to Recreation/Open Space (ROS).

NC 54 Self Storage (Z1700001) is a request to change the zoning designation of property located at 1003 E NC 54 Highway from Residential Suburban-20 (RS-20) to Commercial General with a Development Plan (CG(D)).

Smallwood Drive (Z1700007) is a request to change the zoning designation of property located at 208 Smallwood Drive from Residential Rural (RR, County Jurisdiction) to Planned Development Residential 6.458 (PDR 6.458, City Jurisdiction).
Ample Storage (Z1600030) is a request to change the zoning designation of property located at 4343 Garrett Road from Residential Rural (RR) to Commercial General with a Development Plan CG(D).

SL 2017-80, Wake County Initial (Z1700025A) is an initial zoing request to change the zoning designation of property located at Cozart Road at Andrews Chapel Road from Residential-4 (R-4, City of Raleigh) to Residential Rural (RR, City of Durham).

The Durham City Council will hold the public hearings on Monday, August 21, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 101 City Hall Plaza, 1st Floor. Items to be considered include

TC17000001 – Omnibus Text Amendments 10: A text amendment consisting of technical revisions and minor policy changes to various provisions of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). The amendments are identified as necessary corrections, clarifications, re-organization, or other minor changes to more accurately comply with the intent of the regulations, codify interpretations of regulations, or reflect minor policy changes that are not solely technical in nature.

X1000003 – Holloway Street Local Historic District Overlay Expansion and Preservation Plan Amendment: A petition to expand the Holloway Street Local Historic District zoning overlay, including the area currently within the 2009 National Register District expansion, additional properties for consideration, and proposed removal of the designation at 208 N. Elizabeth Street. The proposal also includes corresponding amendments to the Cleveland Street and Holloway Street Local Historic District Preservation Plan. The proposed expansion generally encompasses an area north of the existing Holloway Street local historic district, including properties along North Queen Street to the west, North Elizabeth Street to the east, and Mallard Street to the north.
