Fitness Class Schedule
The schedule below lists all the drop-in fitness classes available at our recreation centers. These classes are subject to change. Please call ahead to confirm. To view recreation center addresses and contact information, visit the Recreation Center page.
Drop-In Fitness Class Descriptions*All classes are for ages 18 and up, unless otherwise noted
A unique workout that includes dance movements from various regions of the African continent. A drummer accompanies the workout.
CABA (Cardio, Arms, Buns, Abs)
This circuit class focuses on increasing cardiovascular strength, abdominals, glutes, triceps, biceps, and shoulders. A variety of equipment will be used.
This cardio fitness class will work your core, burn fat, and tone muscles. Ages: 16 and up
Healthy Habits Through African Movement
Creative movement designed to uplift your health in body, soul, and mind. It builds stamina and cardio, encourages healthy eating habits, and promotes a positive mind set. Weigh-ins, blood pressure screenings, and discussions with local knowledgeable health professionals take place following the workouts.
Hip Hop Line Dance
Exercise your body and mind by dancing to lively, upbeat music.
Learn proper techniques for punches and kicks while ramping up your fitness level to increase cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, core integration, and flexibility.
Exercise your body and mind by dancing to lively upbeat music from the 1970s to today, combining low, moderate, and high energy line dance routines that will help you burn calories. No previous dance experience is necessary.
Burn calories and stay motivated with stationary bike aerobics that are synced to upbeat music.
Tai Chi Heavy Ball
Participants will learn a style of Tai Chi with a weighted ball to promote a calm, focused mind and improve mind-body coordination. Ages: 16 and up
This form of exercise uses breath control, meditation, and specific body poses to practice health and relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat to class.
Zumba, Zumba Toning, and Zumba Extreme
“Exercise in disguise”, Zumba® blends world rhythms with easy-to-follow choreography, for an effective, total-body workout.
