Bring in your old tires – on or off rim- to be recycled at the Tire Recycling Drive at the Bahama Ruritan Club. Residential only.

1st Annual Durham Reuse Rodeo
April 22, 8:00-2:00
Lakewood Shopping Center (2000 Chapel Hill Road)
A Reuse Rodeo is a “one stop drop” event that allows residents to donate gently used items to multiple nonprofits at the same time in the same place. Nonprofits such as Trosa, First Pages, Welcome Baby Family Resource Center, Habitat for Humanity Restore Orange and Durham Counties, and the Scrap Exchange will be onsite to welcome donated items for repurposing back into the community. There will also be E-waste recycling and paper shredding on site for your convenience.

Durham Earth Day Festival
April 23, 12:00-5:00
Durham Central Park (501 Foster Street)
Celebrate the Earth and learn how you can protect it by visiting informational booths and presentations.  Enjoy the Family Fun-Zone, join in the parade, take a yoga break, and shop for earth-friendly wares at the marketplace. E-waste recycling and confidential paper shredding services will be on site for your convenience.

Trees Over Durham Community Forum

Durham Arts Center (120 Morris Street)
Come learn all about trees in Durham, and tell us what you would like to see in the future. Start the day learning all about trees, then participate in visioning sessions where you get to tell us what you think. We really want to know. At the end, we’ll hear from people who have made trees work for diverse communities, and produce a vision statement of what we want for our trees and communities in Durham.
