Police Explorer Post 357

What is Explorer Post 357?
Exploring is a division of the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life program. Law Enforcement Exploring is a work-site based program for young men and women who have completed the 8th grade and are 14 to 20 years of age.

In our part of North Carolina, the Occoneechee Council is the governing body that our Explorer Post works under.

Durham Police Explorer Skill Training
At regular meetings, Durham Police Explorers learn directly from police officers the best techniques known for crime control and public safety. Through role play, they get to practice:
  • Arrest protocol
  • Domestic crisis intervention
  • Searches
  • Vehicle stops
  • Crowd control
  • Traffic direction
Participation Requirements
In order to be eligible, participants must:
  • Be 14 to 20 years of age
  • Have no criminal record
  • Have at least a 2.0 grade point average in school
